THE TRANSLATION OF THE KITE RUNNER INTO UZBEK: A THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVE

This article examines the translation of Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner into Uzbek through the lens of translation theory. It explores key concepts such as equivalence, cultural adaptation, and the domestication versus foreignization debate. The challenges of translating linguistic and cultural elements, as well as strategies for maintaining the novel’s emotional depth and narrative voice, are discussed. By applying theories from Nida, Newmark, and Venuti, this study highlights the complexities of literary translation and its impact on cross-cultural understanding.
