Abstract

Adolescence is a critical developmental phase characterized by significant physical, emotional, and cognitive changes. Developing responsible decision-making competencies during this period is vital, as these skills influence adolescents' academic success, psychological well-being, and social integration. This article examines the theoretical underpinnings, psychological foundations, and pedagogical strategies for nurturing responsible decision-making skills in adolescents, highlighting the effectiveness of social-emotional learning (SEL) approaches. Additionally, the article reviews contemporary literature and emphasizes the critical role educators and caregivers play in promoting these essential competencies.
