Abstract

Emotional and social skills are essential for young learners, forming the foundation for their overall development and success both inside and outside the classroom. The early years of education provide a critical window for nurturing these skills, as they lay the groundwork for future emotional intelligence, positive social interactions, and the ability to manage one's own behavior and relationships effectively. This paper explores pedagogical methods aimed at developing the emotional and social skills of young learners. It highlights the importance of creating a supportive, inclusive classroom environment and introduces specific strategies, including emotional literacy programs, social-emotional learning (SEL), cooperative learning, role-playing, and mindfulness activities, that can be implemented in primary education.
